Spring Summer Hair!!!!

amazing-hair

In with the heat and out with the cold. When new temperature’s hit us our skin and Hair can take a real beating either way. With cold it dries out and with heat it literally burns up. So what’s a girl to do to protect and heal her hair through the seasons? Well I’m a Kerastase and Redken girl so let me give you some solutions you can do at home and also in the salon. For Normal to Dry Hair I recommend doing a Kerastase in salon Ritual, (Pixilist or Aqua-Oleum). It will transform your crunchy dry hair into silk in just 5 minutes. For Over processed (highlighted or multi-colored hair) use the Kerastase in salon Ritual, Double Reconstruct It will strengthen the hair fiber and repair the out layer and seal it down to a silky shiny finish in just 10 minutes. For Curly Unruly very dry hair use Oleo-Fusion. It will give you control and smooth super shiny hair in 5 minutes. Make sure you invest in your hair and use the corresponding at home products to maintain the results of these treatments.

Are there any color services I can do to make my hair look healthier? Well of course! There are conditioning color Glosses and Illuminators that can literally make your hair sparkle. The best part is they are healthy for the hair too. Over the top of your highlights your stylist will overlay a color gloss with or without tone and it creates a smooth finish to the hair and reflects the light to make your hair have shine whether it’s amazing and healthy or not. So you can fake it til you make it!

You can also freshen up your winter look easily with an Illuminator. Just add it to your regrowth area for 5 minutes and you’ve got Reese Witherspoon hair if you are a dark blonde and Jennifer Anniston hair if you are a medium brunette and J-Lo color hair if you are a dark brunette. The Illuminator makes every color look better because it opens the natural haircolor and allows light reflection through it, removing the dull look and boosting the shine capabilities of hair.

Best of Spring and Summer to you. Let the light shine in!

Oscar Hair By CJ

portman

It seems that this year anything goes in the hair department. Wavy, straight, up down stylish and plain. My favorite was Natalie Portman with a very retro wavy updo. It was classic and pretty and allowed the dress and gorgeous diamond studs to shine. If you want to recreate it at home you will need to be quite good at styling. The easiest way to do it is to: First apply a gel styling product like Redken 6 Shine Curls, scrunch and blowdry then once it’s dry pull the hair back off the face in a banana clip at the back of the head. Then place wavy hair around and over the clip to hide it, securing the hair with bobby pins. Style the top and bang up and back off the face and spray for hold with Redken 18 Quick Dry.

Another pretty style was Amanda Seyfried who had luscious locks and beautiful blonde color. I love how the color gets brighter on the ends. Her style was soft and very easy to create. Using a far side part blowdry hair after applying a styling creme like Redken 12 Align and Spray Shine. Be sure to leave the top hair smooth and laying to the head shape. Use a round brush with a medium size and blowdry in vertical sections around the head. When each sectionis almost dry take the lengths of the hair and wrap them around the metal round brush and heat it up using it like a roller. Heat it then cool it, drop the curl out slowly and carefully then spray each section with Redken hairspray 18 Quickdry. Gorgeous!

Amy Adams hair was smooth and pulled back in a low bun that was simple and chic. The bun was off to the side and she had a far side part that helped to modernize the look a bit.

Viola and Taraji were wearing short styles that were down and sassy. I love that Taraji had a modern haircut with lots of shine and layers. You will need a great hair cutter to create this look. Another style with a side part and asymmetry. Viola’s hair also had a far side part, which seamed to be the one theme that was consistent at the show. She added in vertical curls with lots of shine and hold. I’d recommend using Redken Shine Spray and Quick Dry Hairspray 18. Hope you have fun creating these looks at home! Get Grammy Hair for Valentine’s Day!

I think most would agree that the word for the night was “Collaboration”, not only within the music and the genre’s but also between music and fashion. The Music and Fashion’s were working together to inspire each other and to make the world a more beautiful place. That was evident last night as I watched the Grammy’s and thought “What can people take home with them from watching the show?”
The atmosphere was inspiring and a great distraction from the world and it’s challenges. Hope has been in the air since election day and last night showed us the effects of the world’s economic depression in a positive light. It causes us to be more creative and focus on the art. Fashion and Beauty make people happy and looking good helps to lift their mood. The old saying is so true that “If you look good you feel good”! So how can you take the looks home with you and give yourself a boost? How can you look like a rock star?

katy_perry_closetdiaries

First on my list is Katy Perry: The look was so much fun and really beautiful. All you need to create it is hot roller’s or a curling iron. Her hair was very shiny and voluptuous so you will need mouse (Kerastase) and hair spray (Redken Spray Starch). Place roller’s at to the side’s of the head horizontally and the bang was rolled up and back off her face. She has a serious side part so add that in before you roll the hair. Carefully remove the curl’s and add hair spray (Redken 18) and (Redken Spray Shine). The trick to this style is to let the curls stay smooth, shiny and in shape, no teasing! Oh and you must wear bright red or pink lips with a demure eye color and black eyeliner! Very Pretty look, on blonde’s too. Think Marilyn Monroe.

taylor-swift

Taylor Swift: So natural, just like her and probably the easiest to pull off. All you need is a good mousse (Kerastase) and a diffuser for your blowdryer and a curling iron. Add mousse, place your side part then scrunch the hair. Once the hair is dry carefully take random curls out and use the curling iron the make them perfect vertical spirals. You can either wear this look down or pull the side’s back and wear a loose side ponytail (like Audrina Patridge) or a traditional ponytail straight back (use the hair to conceal the ponytail holder by wrapping it around the pony and fastening with a bobby pin). It’s beautiful, loose and super pretty. I also loved Miley Cyrus messy updo and Kim Kardashian’s sleek, sophisticated updo!

jonusbros
The men: Very ragged looks are still hot and it seems that anything goes as far as length. Short, shaved, long, I think I saw it all. Asymmetry was huge still and very far side part’s in the front fringe added a modern look.

So I hope you can find some inspiration from any of these looks. Just remember that you may not be able to control the world but you can always control your style! Have a Hopeful day and come see me if you ever need help perfecting your hair.
